Delhi’s Hindu Rao Hospital set to start admissions to MBBS

    New Delhi : The North Delhi Municipal Corporation-owned Hindu Rao Hospital is all set to begin admissions to its MBBS programme once it gets a formal nod from the Medical Council of India (MCI), an official said here Tuesday.

    “The Hindu Rao Hospital will soon begin the admission process for the bachelor of medicine and surgery (MBBS) programme once we get the formal letter from MCI,” NDMC Commissioner P.K. Gupta told IANS.

    The Hindu Rao Medical College will be affiliated to the Indraprastha (IP) university and will have 50 seats for the MBBS course.

    “The infrastructure for labs, library, classrooms and even the recruitment of the faculty have already been completed and we have spent Rs.7 crore on the entire process,” Gupta added.

    The Hindu Rao Hospital is situated on the ridge in the Civil Lines area of north Delhi.

    With recognition from MCI, NDMC becomes the third municipal corporation in the country to have a medical college after Mumbai and Ahmedabad.
