Two held for killing shoe-making company’s official

    Ghaziabad: Two contract killers were arrested Saturday for the murder of a shoe-making company’s official in Ghaziabad last year, police said.

    Superintendent of Police (City) Shiv Shankar Yadav said Sanjay and Sachin were arrested following a tip off and they told investigators that a Haryana-based individual paid Rs.18 lakh for killing Nitin Sharma, 38.

    Sharma, who was working for shoe company Woodland, was shot dead in Indirapuram area of Ghaziabad July 20, 2012 outside his house in Shakti Khand neighbourhood, police said.

    After the arrest, Sanjay and Sachin said they executed the killing on the instructions of a man identified as Vijay, who is still at large, police said.

    The two claimed Vijay was tasked by the Haryana-based person to kill Sharma, police said.

    Two pistols, five live cartridges, a car and Rs.8,500 were seized from the two contract killers, police said.

    Sanjay and Sachin claimed that three others – Naveen, Manoj and Ravi – were involved in the killing of the shoe company’s official, police said.

    The two claimed Naveen was killed in gang war while Manoj was in jail in connection with another crime, police said.
