Ahmedabad : Narendra Modi, who led the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to an emphatic win in Gujarat, would not shift to national politics in the near future, party leader M. Venkaiah Naidu said Monday.
“Modi is a dynamic leader. The party has given him the task of Gujarat. It will decide in future if he will shift to the national level,” he told reporters here.
He said Modi’s victory, third consecutive win for the party in the state, had boosted the morale of the organisation.
“Self-confidence and will power of our workers have gone up with this triumph,” said Naidu, who was here as the party’s central observer.
Saying that the people had voted for the development agenda, he criticized the main opposition Congress for not accepting its defeat with grace.
