India, who finished year with 110 points, could have been on the third spot, but New Zealand’s clean sweep of the series against Bangladesh ensured that the Kiwis’ retain their third position with 112 points.

New Zealand defeated Bangladesh 3-0 in the three-match ODI series that concluded in Queenstown Monday.

World Champions Australia finished 2007 on the top position with 130 points, just six rating points above second-spot holder South Africa.

However, the middle of the table is extremely congested, as only five ratings points separate third-paced New Zealand from England (107), placed in seventh position.

West Indies is placed at the eighth position with 100 points.

However, with Pakistan, West Indies, India and Sri Lanka involved in ODIs over the next couple of months, plenty of reshuffling is expected to take place in the table.

4. India (110)
