Damascus : Iranian Supreme Leader’s representative to Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani here on Sunday evening stressed the need for the Palestinians to put aside all internal differences.
In a meeting with the head of the political bureau of the Palestinian Hamas Movement, Khalid Mashal, Larijani underlined that the Palestinian forces should remain united in their efforts to thwart the plots of the occupying Zionist enemy.
He referred to the role played by certain foreign agents in stirring up disagreements among Palestinians.
Larijani also had a meeting with Secretary General of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement Ramadhan Abdullah Shalah on Sunday.
Both sides in the meeting strongly condemned the occupation policy of the Zionists and their plots for construction of new Jewish settlements as well as their repeated brutal attacks on the Gaza region disregarding international laws and regulations.
Larijani who is on an informal visit to Syria, earlier in the day met and conferred with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Vice-President Faruq al-Shara as well as Syrian foreign minister Walid Mualem and representatives of Amal and Hizbollah movements.
