Kejriwal lacks organisational skills: Shanti Bhushan

New Delhi : AAP co-founder Shanti Bhushan Wednesday said party chief Arvind Kejriwal lacks organisational skills and is not competent to expand the outfit.

The AAP called Bhushan’s remarks as “misplaced,” saying that the veteran lawyer was unhappy over its decision not to contest the upcoming Haryana assembly polls.

“Arvind (Kejriwal) is a great leader and a great campaigner, but in my opinion he lacks organisational ability,” Bhushan had told Times Now.

“He does not have the kind of competence which can spread the message of the party all over India, which can quickly create elected structures of the party which nobody will be able to blame,” he had said.

“Therefore this delay of 2 years in getting the elected structures in place is a great handicap. This is resulting in different voices,” he had said.

Describing the former chief minister of Delhi as “sharp and main face of the party,” Bhushan suggested: “So far as spreading the party is concerned he should share the responsibilities with someone else who has enough time for organisational work.”

Bhushan said that he will remain in the party for his entire life.

Reacting to Bhushan’s remark, the AAP said: “This political party was formed on the basic principle of internal democracy and tries its best to adhere to it at all levels. The criticism by Bhushan, who is himself one of the founding members of the party, on this issue is misplaced.”

“Bhushan is apparently unhappy at the party’s decision to not contest the upcoming Haryana assembly elections. He had his own views on the issue, but the party’s national executive and the political affairs committee decided against contesting Haryana elections,” it added.

AAP leader Prashant Bhushan, son of Shanti Bhushan, said that he should have raised this issue in the party instead of going public about it.
