Jaipur : Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Wednesday unveiled the Artech-Dalmia Centre for IT at Banasthali Vidyapeeth, a women’s university in Banasthali, some 70 km from the state capital.
The centre proposes to impart undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in the field of IT in collaboration with Banasthali University so as to empower women with cutting-edge technologies and to give them an equal footing with men in this sector.
Speaking on the occasion, Raje appreciated the step taken by Artech to train women with a judicious mix of software, hardware and communication technologies and to enable research and development in this field.
“Such initiatives will further strengthen our commitment to encourage IT education to women and create an environment which is conductive for their growth,” the chief minister said.
This centre will also help in computerising the other departments of Banasthali.
Ajay Poddar, managing Director, Artech Infosystems, said: “Artech’s new partnership with Banasthali Vidyapeeth successfully brings two leaders together, one in education and one in IT.”
M.H. Dalmia, chairman of the board at Artech India, said: “The partnership between Artech and Banasthali, two women-centric organisations, will go a long way towards the achievement of these goals (of providing IT education to women).”
Artech Infosystems Pvt Ltd, a 28-year-old company, has established itself as a leading IT consulting and staff augmentation, project management, training, infrastructure management and recruitment process outsourcing firm.
Artech is the Indian arm of Artech Information Systems LLC headquartered in the New Jersey in the US.
