New Delhi : Congress president Sonia Gandhi, recuperating after being hospitalised for a breathing problem, made a “courtesy call” Monday on President Pratibha Patil and Vice President Hamid Ansari.
According to a Rashtrapati Bhavan source, it was “just a courtesy call after the New Year”.
The United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson was admitted to the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital on Jan 1 with chest infection and breathing problems. She spent six days in hospital.
Although discharged on Jan 6, she has been avoiding official engagements and meetings.
Gandhi met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, senior Congress ministers and party leaders at her home last week.
