MQM says no terrorists sheltering in party headquarter

Islamabad : After a 30-hour-long raid conducted by the paramilitary Pakistani Rangers at the Mutahidda Qaumi Movement (MQM) headquarters in Karachi, the party on Thursday said the raid was beyond comprehension and they were not sheltering terrorists, a media report said.

“Weapons seized during the Rangers raid at Nine Zero (the name given to the MQM headquarters) are licensed. We kept the weapons for our safety in view of the looming terrorist threats,” party leader Farooq Sattar said at a press conference, ARY news reported.

Sattar said his party has proof that MQM activist Waqas Shah was killed in firing by Rangers personnel.

Some elements tried to doctor facts about Shah’s killing which is unacceptable, he said.
