Srinagar : Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh arrived here on Wednesday on a two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir.
Immediately after his arrival here, he reviewed the overall security situation in the state including the security arrangements made for this year’s Amarnath Yatra beginning on Thursday.
Senior officials of the state government, central paramilitary forces and those of the state and central intelligence agencies attended the meeting.
Singh stressed on better synergy and coordination among various agencies to ensure foolproof security for the Yatra.
Besides security, healthcare, food facilities and communication arrangements were also discussed during the meeting.
Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Kumar Singh was also present.
Rajnath Singh will pay obeisance at the Amarnath Cave shrine with the first batch of pilgrims on Thursday.
