New Delhi : Police found a headless body in west Delhi Friday – ten days after arresting a man who is alleged to have similarly decapitated four other bodies.
Chandrakant Jha, an alleged serial killer who dumped four headless bodies outside Delhi's high-security Tihar Jail, is in custody awaiting trial.
The latest headless body was found early Friday morning, dumped in a jute sack near Shakurbasti railway tracks, sending police in a tizzy.
The body was found after a passerby noticed a blood-stained sack lying near the railway tracks and informed police. The headless body has been unidentified and unclaimed, police said.
"We have informed all the police nearby stations to see if the body could be matched with the dossiers of missing people in their area," Punjabi Bagh station house officer Gurmeet Singh said.
Police had arrested Chandrakant Jha, a suspected serial killer, from Haiderpur area in northwest Delhi on May 20 for allegedly slaughtering six victims over the past four years and dumping four headless bodies outside Tihar jail.
