Dubai : Irfan Pathan moved up six places to the 19th spot while Anil Kumble was the highest ranked Indian at the sixth place in the bowlers’ list, in the latest International Cricket Council (ICC) Test rankings released here Sunday.
In the batsmen’s list, Sachin Tendulkar moved up one spot to the 13th place while both Rahul Dravid and V.V.S. Laxman moved up one place each to be at the 15th and the 17th spot respectively. Sri Lankan Kumar Sangakkara still leads the batsmen’s list with 933 rating points and South African Jacques Kallis is second with 917 points.
Australia’s captain Ricky Ponting’s slide continues and he has now dropped to fourth position after entering the series as the leading batsman. Ponting’s failure to score heavily in this series has allowed Michael Hussey to rise to third for the first time in his career.
The bowling list is also headed by a Sri Lankan, Muttiah Muralidharan and the champion spinner is followed by Australian Stuart Clark (843) in the second place.
