Kabul : A NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) soldier was killed and five more wounded in a roadside bomb explosion in southern Afghanistan. “One ISAF soldier was killed and five soldiers were injured when their vehicles were involved in an explosion during a patrol in southern Afghanistan, ” said a statement from NATO’s headquarters here on Monday. It said the incident happened on Sunday while the soldiers were on patrol. The statement did not mention nationalities of those killed and injured. It also did not mention the exact location of the blast. Majority of attacks in the southern zone of the insurgency-wracked country are being occured in Kandahar and Helmand provinces where the Canadian and British troops are operating as part of NATO’s peacekeeping and counter-insurgency operations. According to unofficial figures, the number of soldiers of the multinational force killed in Afghanistan has reached 10 during the current year.
