Raipur : The Chhattisgarh government Wednesday said that 2,200 poultry samples sent to the High Security Animal Disease Laboratory (HSADL) in Bhopal have tested negative for avian influenza.
“All 2,200 samples collected from various locations in the state have been found to be negative,” a statement issued by the government said.
The state animal husbandry department has asked its employees in various districts to inspect poultry farms in their areas along with district administration officials and immediately report any suspected bird-flu cases.
The government has advised the water resources department and forest department to step up vigil at water reservoirs that attract migratory birds and act immediately if any bird is found dead.
Chhattisgarh Tuesday issued a bird-flu alert as a precautionary measure and banned the import of chicken from West Bengal that has been hit by avian influenza.
