Hayden is now the third Australian, after Bradman (four centuries in five Tests in 1947-48) and David Boon (three tons in five Tests in 1991-92) to register three or more hundreds in a Test series against India.

The 36-year-old batsman repeated the feat of four hundreds in successive Tests between 2005 and 2005-06 with centuries against England at The Oval in 2005, against a World XI at Sydney, and against the West Indies at Brisbane and Hobart in 2005-06.
