Bhubaneswar : The Orissa government Tuesday signed deals with private steel companies for three more steel plants to be set up in the state.
Steel and Mines Secretary U.P. Singh signed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with officials of Pradhan Steel and Power Pvt Ltd, Atha Mines Pvt Ltd and Tecton Ispat Pvt Ltd at the state secretariat.
According to the MOUs, all the three plants would be operational in the next three years.
With these three MOUs, the total numbers MOUs the government has signed in past four years for steel projects has increased to 49, the official said.
