New Delhi : An Indian Air Force (IAF) MiG-27 fighter jet Thursday crashed in the countrys eastern region but the pilot was unhurt in the incident.
“The crash occurred around 1240 hrs Indian Standard Time soon after the aircraft had taken off from the Hashimara air base in the Eastern Indian state of West Bengal on a routine training exercise,” an IAF spokesperson told reporters here.
“However, the pilot managed to eject to safety,” the spokesperson said.
The wreckage of the combat jet has also been located, he added.
A court of enquiry has been ordered into the crash.
