Raipur : Three workers of the Chhattisgarh State Electricity Board (CSEB) were Tuesday killed when a powerful landmine exploded in Bastar region where Maoist guerrillas are active, the police said.
"Three people were killed in Narayanpur district when a cement-loaded truck of CSEB was blown up," said Inspector General Girdhari Nayak. Police blame Maoists for the attack.
Three policemen were also severely injured in the explosion that took place on the Narayanpur-Orchha road, nearly 350 km from here, Nayak told IANS.
The CSEB workers were on their way to a forested area to restore power supply that was snapped by the rebels since June 2 in the districts of Bastar, Narayanpur, Dantewada and Bijapur.
