Kuwaiti missions in India stopped stamping work visas for Indians in December 2007 after India introduced new employment conditions for protecting its nationals, which were rejected by Kuwait.

India has now forwarded a new proposal after considering the objections raised by Kuwait.

“We have submitted a new proposal which is within our parameters and in consonance with their law,” the minister told IANS Friday.

“I held talks on the issue with the prime minister of Kuwait, foreign minister and labour minister. They seem to be positive about the new proposal,” he added.
