New Delhi : The cloud cover over Delhi seems to have done the trick Monday with the minimum temperatures steadily rising and the numbing cold wave showing signs of abating.
After two gloomy and dull days, the sun came out in the capital though the wind did take the warmth out of it. The minimum temperature Monday rose to 6.2 degrees Celsius, three notches below normal.
The mercury has been steadily rising in the past two days. On Sunday the minimum was 5 degrees while on Saturday it was 2.9 degree Celsius.
The Met office here forecast warmer days ahead. The night temperatures could rise further in the next 3-4 days. The minimum temperature Tuesday is expected to be around 8 degrees Celsius.
The lowest minimum temperature in the plains of 3.1 degrees Celsius was recorded in Ludhiana, Punjab.
Met office forecasts rain and snowfall for Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and parts of Uttarakhand Monday.
