Hyderabad : In a path-breaking development in Andhra Pradesh, the state Congress government on Saturday started the process of recruitment of Muslims under 4% reservation quota. This was one of the party’s election promises. The first to benefit from the reservation are 10 assistant engineers, including three women. They have been recruited in the energy department.
On 2nd February, these candidates had an interaction with Chief Minister YSR Reddy and Minister for Minority Welfare and Energy Mohammed Ali Shabbir in Hyderabad. They have got the job under Backward Class “E” category. Eight of them got the job at Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation. The rest two have been recruited at Power Distribution Company. The 4% reservation in admission to educational institutions came into effect last year.
The successful candidates are: SKG Vali (Kadapa), SK Abdul Mateen (Krishna), MH Khwaja Mohiuddin (Adilabad), SK Rafi and SK Siraj (Nellore) Sk Yasmin (Khammam) Mohammed Khalida Begum (Nalgonda) and Sk Jehangir (Prakasham), Nader Vali ( Guntur ) and Zaheda Shaikh (Vijaywada).
