Ramallah : A Fatah leader has held Israel responsible for a Palestinian attack that happened in southern Israel Monday.
Jebril Rajoub, a member of the Fatah Revolutionary Council, told KUNA that Israel had to be blamed for the attack in the southern Israeli town of Dimona, the first such attack in over a year, due to Israel’s escalated aggression and blockade on the Palestinian people.
“What has happened is a message to the international community to create adequate elements of leverage on the Israeli government to end the occupation, to stop denying Palestinian rights and to respect international legitimacy resolutions,” he said.
He added that Monday’s attack showed that the separation wall, barbed wires and military presence would not prevent resistance groups from revengeful response to Israeli practices.
Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas condemned the bombing, but also criticised an earlier military raid in the northern West Bank in which Israeli commandos killed two Palestinian gunmen.
A Palestinian bomber killed a woman in the attack on a shopping mall in Dimona.
Fatah’s Aqsa Martyrs Brigades claimed responsibility for the attack and said two bombers executed the operation.
