Kasargod (Kerala) : Unidentified men pelted stones at the Kerala opposition leader Oommen Chandy during a Congress party meeting Friday evening here. He, however, escaped unhurt, a police official said.
Four policemen sustained minor injuries in the incident. The officials at Bekal police station suspect the attack to be the handiwork of activists of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M).
The Congress party workers present at the meeting retaliated. The meeting was cancelled following the incident.
The Kasargod unit of the party had organized the meeting in this northern district.
