New Delhi: Condemning in strong words the violence against people from North India, especially U. P. and Bihar, in Mumbai, All India United Muslim Morcha has emphasized that Muslims should adopt the strategy of keeping calm.
Morcha’s president Dr. Ejaz Ali said in a press statement that Bal Thackeray too had targeted Biharis earlier and instigated communal riots that resulted in loss of life and property of poor Muslims. Now, Raj Thackeray wants to incite riots in order to thrust his might. If Muslims would oppose this move openly, it will only offer an opportunity to fascist communal elements.
Terming Maharashtra government as ‘coward’, Morcha demanded prime minister and union home minister to interfere and take stern action against undemocratic activities.
Condemning Raj Thackeray’s statement, general secretary of Delhi’s Janata Dal (Secular), Aftab Ahmad has expressed anguish over Maharashtra government’s inaction in the face of the controversial statement. He demanded immediate arrest of Raj Thackeray and cancellation of his party’s registration.
Janata Dal (Secular) leaders have also demanded Raj Thackeray to apologize before North Indians without any further delay. On this occasion, the party workers Jawed Khan, Nasim Ahmad Chowdhary, Haji Mohammad Shamim Mansoori etc. expressed their anger and agony.
