The protests are consented by the influential Philippine Catholic Church, that declare that Arroyo has no option but to resign after the corruption scandals that incriminates her and her nearest environment.

Gloria Macapagal Arroyo saw herself involved in a very strong case of commissions’ fraud that involves her husband, businessman Jose Miguel Arroyo, alleged participant in altering the costs of a telecommunications contract to receive millionaire profits.

Gloria’s husband was also involved in another alleged fraud case in the Southrail railroad.

However, the government called for calm before the increasing demand of the president’s resignation, and says that truth and the justice must be done by courts, instead of the streets.
