Tadic said his government will never admit to the claimed sovereignty and called the world community for immediate annulment of this violation of international rights.

In making the announcement, Kossovo’s Parliament President Jakup Krasniqi declared the region a “democratic, free and independent” state, while PM Hashim Thaci red the declaration of independence, but the matter divides the European Union.

Of the EU 27 members, Romania, Greece, Cyprus, Spain, Italy, Slovakia, Serbia and Russia, oppose the unilateral step and Mocow recently warned of its negative effects on reginal stability.

And following Kosovo’s example, the autonomous republics of South Ossetia and Abkhazia, Georgia, submitted similar request to Russia and the UN today.
