Nawaz Shairf the first priority of PMLN for PM slot : Aqeel Anjum

Islamabad : Winner of the National Assembly seat from capital area Anjum Aqeel Khan Tuesday said that party leadership as well as the supporters of Pakistan Muslim League (n) would like Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif as Prime Minister.

Talking to a private television channel he expressed the hope that inchanged conditions the PML N leader will be able contest the bye- election on any NA seat.

Anjum Aqeel Khan won from NA-48 seat with big margin of above 370000 votes was of the opinion that leadership qualities of Mian Nawaz Sharif and his relations with the people of constituency are behind this historic success.

“It was my first entry in the electoral politics and I am greatly thankful to the people of constituency for posing vivid confidence in me”, he said. Aqeel said he is a local in the area and is well know in rural and urban areas of the capital.

He was optimistic that his party will get the required strength to form a government at the center.

The newly elected PML Q members are in contact with Nawaz Sharif while the PML N enjoys good relations with PPPP and ANP , he said.

He said first priority of his party will be to restore pre-November 3 judiciary adding the cooperation of PML N with other parties will be conditional to it.

He hoped that all major political parties will cooperate in efforts for restoration of pre-November 3 judiciary.

Asked what in his opinion was the reason for defeat of PML Q the newly elected MNA said, price hike, shortage of basic needs such as food items, electricity, gas etc alongwith deteriorating law and order due to wrong policies were the major issues on which the people showed there reaction.

To another question he said the entire government machinery remained busy in pre-poll rigging till the last day but the poll day rigging was not possible due to international pressure and awareness among the masses.

About his programme for providing relief his constituency people the MNA said, Islamabad is mainly the city of working class who want improvement in civic facilities such as public parks, roads and streets, street lights, sanitation, water supply etc. and above all the removal of anti-worker clauses from labour laws particularly from Ordinance 2002.

He will work in his capacity to address all these issues besides playing his role in the legislative assembly, Aqeel Anjum said.
