In Nablus, Israeli army vehicles rolled into the city and held tens of residents at a public square for hours before arresting two of them, the sources added.

A third resident was arrested from his home in Hebron and three others were taken from Tulkarem.

In one of the detainee’s house in Tulkarem, Israeli soldiers found an explosive device and detonated it, Israeli army radio reported, adding that the six detainees were wanted by Israel.

The detentions, part of the Israeli army’s daily campaigns in the Palestinian territories, took place hours after Israeli Premier Ehud Olmert and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas held a meeting in Jerusalem.
