Lahore : The general elections were conducted in a fair and transparent manner, and the results are evidence of the impartiality of the caretaker government, said Punjab Trade & Investment minister, Mian Muhammad Shafiq.He said peace and security during the polls was also ensured by the local administration as promised by the caretakers.
The minister observed that foreign observers and media teams were also satisfied with the arrangements and conduct of the polls, which were held in such a manner that no individual or agency could influence the voting process, he added.
He felicitated all the candidates who had won in the elections, and expressed hope that they would work to promote and strengthen democratic norms in the country.
