New Delhi : First Indian Ocean Rim nations film festival was inaugurated here with the inaugural speech by the Iranian ambassador to India.
Mahdi Nabizadeh in his inaugural address to the IOR film festival lauded it as ‘common platform’ for projecting Indian Ocean region’s arts and culture.
Nabizadeh was inaugurating the festival in the capacity of Islamic Republic of Iran’s envoy to India as Iran is present head of IOR federation.
He said, “Arts and culture are means of expression and different branches like music, films, theatre and dance particularly need an accurate direction.”
He regretted some films produced are not appropriate. He requested and wished the federation would correct or put checks to such productions.
