Shillong : The Border Security Force along the Indo-Bangla border in Indian states of Meghalaya and Assam has been put on alert for the ensuing Assembly elections in Meghalaya.
“All the troops along the border have been instructed to be extra vigilant to thwart any attempt of infiltration into the country,” BSF Inspector General of Police P K Mishra said today.
The BSF has also set up additional patrol bases along the border to enhance the vigil and requested civilians to co-operate with it.
The move comes as a security measure to check any infiltration in this poll-bound state.
