New Delhi : The Lok Sabha Tuesday approved the imposition of the president’s rule in Nagaland.
Minister of State for Home Sri Prakash Jaiswal moved the resolution for approval of the proclamation issued by President Pratibha Patil Jan 3, 2008, placing the northeastern state under president’s rule under Article 356 of the constitution. It was approved by a voice vote.
Nagaland goes to polls March 5 to elect a new assembly.
