Gaza : The military wing of Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) on Thursday said it had fired 11 home-made rockets into targets in southern Israel and Western Negev.
In a statement faxed to the press, Ezz el-Deen al-Qassam Brigades said nine of the rockets were fired at Sderot city into southern Israel and two rockets were aimed at an Israeli army
post to the east of southern Gaza Strip.
On Wednesday, Israel started a series of airstrikes into Gaza Strip and killed 18 Palestinians, including four children. After the first strike which killed five Hamas militants, the groups rules Gaza resumed firing home-made rockets into Israel.
The statement said that 70 rockets were fired into Israel since
Wednesday, with 41 were aimed at Sderot.
“The shelling comes in response to the crimes and massacres which the Israeli air force carries out against the Palestinian people and their resistance,” according to the statement.
