Mumbai : Indian stock markets slipped in a big way at the start of trade Friday. Sensex, the benchmark index of the Bombay Stock Exchange, slipped below the psychologically important 16,000 mark within the first 30 minutes of trading.
The Sensex was at 15,989.11 at 10.30 a.m. Friday, 552.97 points or 3.34 percent down from its close Wednesday. Thursday had been a holiday in the stock markets on account of Shivratri.
