Islamabad : At least 3 people were killed and 15 others, most foreigners, were injured in a blast in an Italian restaurant in the Pakistani capital on Saturday evening, witnesses and local TV channels reported.
There was no official confirmation of the deaths.
Witnesses said they saw injured were being shifted in ambulance from the restaurant in the busy Super Market.
It was not clear what caused the blast at Luna Caprese at 8:45 p.m.
The blast destroyed the wall of the restaurant.
There were 15 to 20 people, most foreigners, having dinner when the blast occurred.
The blast created panic in the market, where a large number of people were busy shopping on the weekend.
The police cordoned off the main road outside the restaurant.
A witness Hussain Turi, working in a private office at Super Market, said he heard a huge blast and rushed to site.
“I saw three injured were being shifted in ambulance,” he said.
