India won’t support forces affecting CA polls in Nepal

New Delhi : Indian ambassador to Nepal Shiv Shankar Mukherjee Wednesday stated that his country will not support any power that will affect the Constituent Assembly (CA) elections, slated for April 10.

Indicating at the mounting cases of criminal activities at Indian border regions in Nepal and activities of armed groups in the regions, the Indian ambassador said that the Indian government will take every possible measure to control the activities which will have its effect on the conduction of CA polls, reported Kantipu news portal from Kathmandu.

Talking to journalists today after laying foundation stone of maternity and Emergency wards, which are being constructed with the assistance from Indian government, at Sagarmatha Regional Hospital in Rajbiraj, Saptari district headquarters, Mukherjee vowed to provide necessary assistance to Nepal for the crucial CA polls.

Stating that the Indian government has been running various projects in health, education and infrastructure development sectors spending millions of rupees, Mukherjee said that India will benefit from Nepal’s prosperity.

The Indian envoy also expressed suspicion over the possible rise in criminal activities along Nepal-India border.
