United Nations : The World Food Program warned that violence prevents the Somali people’s access to aid from humanitarian bodies.
The New York-based UNWFP release explains that violence has forced thousands of people to flee since it prevents aid from reaching some areas lacking effective administration since 1991.
UNWFP director in Somalia Peter Goossens called the world to turn Somalia into a priority and press for changes before it is too late.
Goossens also asked the Somali authorities to help the WFP reach all the needy and called states and private donors not to forget Somalia.
He also urged to renew efforts to restore security and arrange a political processes leading to reconciliation to end 18 years of conflict or an entire generation of Somalis will know but wars.
