Morgan is expected to meet Wednesday South Africa’s Haroon Lorgat, who is a strong candidate to take over from Australian Malcolm Speed.

Lograt, a former convener of the Cricket South Africa’s selection committee, will meet Morgan in Cape Town.

The South African’s name cropped up following ICC’s first choice Imtiaz Patel, also from South Africa, excused himself from accepting the post after selection, preferring to stay with South African broadcaster SuperSport.

Lorgat was among the six candidates short-listed by the ICC and he stands a very good chance of getting the nod from the ICC chief.

The only other candidate under consideration is former South Africa wicketkeeper Dave Richardson.

The candidates will face a four-member selection committee that includes Morgan, ICC president Ray Mali, Indian board president Sharad Pawar and Cricket Australia chairman Creagh O’ Connor.

The new CEO will assume office after the ICC Annual Conference week June 29-July 4.
