New Delhi : The Delhi High Court Wednesday reserved its judgement on a plea of former trustees of the Chhattarpur Temple in south Delhi, seeking a fresh probe into alleged misappropriation of temple’s assets by present trustees.

The court had appointed Justice (Retired) K. Ramamoorthy in 2004 to conduct an inquiry.

He submitted his report in October 2006, making a slew of recommendations on the functioning of the trust while giving a clean chit to the trust members on corruption allegations.

Unsatisfied with the inquiry findings, some former trustees approached the court seeking direction to the government to conduct a fresh probe against the present trustees and alleged that they were involved in financial mismanagement and corruption in the trust.

They pointed out that the report of a chartered accountant, who examined the accounts of the trust, pointed to misappropriation of funds but Justice Ramamoorthy ignored it.
