New Delhi : Adding another dimension to their burgeoning ties, India and China Wednesday signed a two-year Cultural Exchange Programme (CEP) under which artists and officials will exchange visits.
India's Minister of Tourism and Culture Ambika Soni and Chinese Minister of Culture Sun Jiazheng signed the CEP for 2007-2009 here, an official release said.
Under this programme, an official delegation of five members from each country will visit the other side for seven days to organise performances, exhibitions and cultural festivals.
The two sides will also exchange a delegation of 10 writers two to three archivists.
They will also encourage the China Dunhuang Research Institutions and the Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts to have a long-term academic collaboration.
Under this programme, the Chinese Federation of Literary and Art Circles and India's Sangeet Natak Akademi and Lalit Kala Akademi will exchange musicians, dancers, artists and critics for attachment up to three months at appropriate institutions to deliver lectures and conduct workshops.
The two countries would also exchange a delegation of anthropologists to study the status of bio-cultural research. They will encourage their broadcasting organisations to exchange radio and TV programmers.
Moreover, a media delegation of eight members from each side will visit the other country for a period of two weeks.
