The two men and a woman were arrested at around 2 p.m., a short while before the torch relay was to begin, according to police sources.

Earlier, more than 40 Tibetan demonstrators were detained in two separate places shortly after the Olympic torch reached the Indian capital from Pakistan early Thursday.

Police sources said the torch has been kept at an “undisclosed” safe house.

Exiled Tibetans began a parallel torch relay from Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial Rajghat as Delhi turned into a virtual fortress for the Olympic torch relay.
