New Delhi : The weather in central and northern India remained dry and warm Saturday, while it continued to rain in the northeast.
It was another bright and sunny day Saturday in the national capital with the maximum temperature rising to 36 degrees Celsius, three degrees more than a day before. The day’s low was 20.6 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year.
The Indian Meteorological Department in its bulletin has said that Madhya Pradesh and parts of central are facing temperatures above normal.
“Maximum temperatures are 2-3 degrees Celsius above normal over eastern Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha and parts of Telangana and near normal over Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh,” the bulletin said.
The weather office has forecast that the temperatures could increase by 3-4 degrees over Rajasthan and parts of Uttar Pradesh by Monday.
“Mainly dry weather is likely to prevail over most parts of the country except Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya where scattered showers are likely during next 2-3 days till Tuesday,” the bulletin said.
Assam’s largest city Guwahati received 7.4 mm of rain Saturday.
Across the country, It also rained in Goa. State capital Panaji recorded 15.5 mm of rain.
