Madrid : Frederic Kanoute has denied that he wants to leave Spanish cup winners Sevilla.
Just before getting on the train from Madrid to Seville – where tens of thousands of Sevillistas were waiting for the return of their heroes, the Mali striker said: "I never said that I wanted to leave.
"All I said was that the club had not offered me an improvement and an extension of my contract, something that for me would be a satisfaction," he said.
Kanoute, 29, is under contract at Sevilla until 2009. On Friday, his agent said that he would like to return to the English Premier League.
The lanky forward – who scored the only goal in Saturday's cup win over Getafe – said: "There are Premier League teams that are interested in me but at least for the moment they are not very interesting for me."
