Arab League Chief to visit Lebanon Thursday to complete Arab initiative mission

Cairo : Arab League Secretary-General Amr Moussa has said that he will be visiting Lebanon on Thursday to complete his mission on the implementation of the Arab Initiative to end the Lebanese political deadlock.

Moussa said in a press release Tuesday that there is hope in ending the Lebanese crisis based on the urgency of all the parties involved due to the deteriorating situation in Lebanon.

The Arab League chief stressed the importance of dialogue among the various parties and the election of a Lebanese president.

Meanwhile, Arab League Special Representative in Lebanon, Ambassador Hisham Yousif said that there are positive signs in moving forward with dialogue.

On Monday night, the leader of the Lebanese ruling Future Movement Saad Al-Hariri said Lebanon has a genuine chance to elect a president on May 13.
