Patna: The renovation of Patna’s famous Anjuman Islamia Hall will begin soon as the advisory committee of Anjuman Islamia, a prominent social organization in the state, has taken a decision to the effect.
Advocate Syed Ashhad Ali, president, Anjuman Islamia advisory committee, said on 5th May the condition of the building was very pathetic and the committee had decided for its reconstruction which will approximately cost Rs. 8 crore.
The organization invited newly anointed state Minister for Minority Welfares Shahid Ali Khan to the hall to witness its condition. While addressing the advisory committee meeting at the hall, the minister said there would not be any compromise on protection of wakf properties. He inspected the building and gave assurance of government aid for its reconstruction and beautification.
Advocate Syed Ashhad Ali said the reconstruction of the hall will not affect its basic fnctioning. The aim to invite Khan on this occasion was to make him aware with the internal condition of this beneficial, dedicated building for the community.
He further added that whole managing committee of Anjuman is well known with the pitiable condition of its building and it has done several repairing work recently. The committee has prepared a project for its reconstruction and modernisation, he said. He also informed that booking charges of the hall has been increased to Rs 5000 from Rs 2000 because it is providing all modern facilities.
