French FM expresses indignation at bombings in India

Paris : French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner expressed early Wednesday “indignation and revulsion” at the series of bombings that struck the Indian city of Jaipur on Tuesday, causing the deaths of at least 80 people and wounding 150 others.

In a statement, Kouchner expressed solidarity with India and said France was “at India and the Indian people’s side faced with this unacceptable horror.

” Jaipur is a major tourist destination located in the Rajasthan area near the border with Pakistan.

The French Minister said he wanted to assure the Indian authorities of the full solidarity of France and he stressed that his government was “more than ever available to intensify cooperation with India in the matter of the anti-terrorism struggle.” Kouchner also sent a message of condolences to the many victims families after the wave of bombing attacks in several areas of Jaipur.
