New Delhi: For the last sixty years, Muslims have been continuously moving towards decline as a result of their apathy, said Syed Hamid, president of U.P. Rabita Committee and Chancellor of Jamia Hamdard.
Addressing a meeting of the organization held at Nehru Guest House of Jamia Millia Islamia, the seasoned educationist said the urgency of the situation demands that we do away with the ignoring attitude and strive for the removal of our backwardness in the field of education.
He emphasized on the benefits of the reservation extended to the people of OBC category by highlighting the fact that eight of nine students of Jamia Hamdard who have passed civil services examination 2007 come from OBC background. He further pointed out that students falling under OBC category should get their papers corrected. They should be ready so that they may benefit from the government’s provision of reservation for them.
He expressed concern over the fact that Muslim students get enrolled in good numbers for education but their number decrease as they move up.
