Blast near Denmark’s Pakistan embassy kills three

Islamabad : At least three people were killed and 10 wounded when a bomb exploded near the Denmark Embassy in Islamabad, Interior Secretary said.

The bomb exploded at the main gate of the embassy, badly damaging building of the embassy, Syed Kamal Shah said.

Shah said that two police men among those killed in the blast.

Doctors at Islamabad’s two main hospitals said that five people were killed in the blast.

A doctor at the Polyclinic Hospital said that four dead bodies were brought to the hospital.

An administrative official at another hospital Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences said that one body was brought to the hospital.

The blast destroyed around 30 vehicles at the car park of the embassy at the posh F-6 sector of the capital, witnesses said.

Police said that preliminary investigation shows that car was used in the blast to target the embassy.

Police said that a four-foot deep crater was created at the blast site.

No group claimed responsibility of the attack.

The blast completely destroyed post of the private guards outside the embassy, causing death to a security guard, witnesses said.

The blast shattered windows throughout the area, and a cloud of brown smoke climbed hundreds of feet into the sky, which was visible across Islamabad.
