New Delhi : The central government Thursday approved a Rs.3.99 billion plan to enable Arunachal Pradesh reconstruct infrastructure damaged by natural calamities in 2005.
Of this, the state will get Rs.3.59 billion as additional central assistance and will have to raise a loan component of Rs.390 million on its own, Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi told reporters after meeting of the cabinet of central ministers, presided over by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.
The central grant will be released in two equal instalments of Rs.1.79 billion.
“This decision will enable the state undertake long-term reconstruction of the damaged infrastructure,” Dasmunsi said.
