Beijing : The earthquake death toll in the Chinese province of Sichuan has increased to 69,127 on Thursday after five more bodies were found, according to official sources.
The daily report of the State Council Information Board announced that 17,918 people are still missing and 373,612 have been injured.
The source noted that 20,878 injured are still in hospitals and 9,595 are receiving medical treatment in assistance centers in other provinces.
Over 1.1 million inhabitants in the place damaged by the powerful quake last May 12 were evacuated to safe places.
The Chinese Seismologic Bureau reported that 166 aftershocks have been detected in the area in the last 24 hours.
Two new movements on the 4.9 Richter scale have been registered since Wednesday but the rest were below 3.9 degrees.
